Mmmmm...

Well hello there! You are sooo yummy! I love his hair like this. I like either way but now he's not hiding behind his hair like he was before. Plus, I'm not down with the greasy hair look. I stopped liking Ethan Hawke for those reasons exactly.

Can't wait for the new movie to come out!!

Poor Madd...

Poor Maddox. He has an ear infection. Poor little guy. He woke up screaming in pain this morning. He had snot everywhere and you could tell he was feeling like death. Orly took him to the Dr.'s office and sure enough he was in the beginning stages of an ear infection. Ear aches are the worst!!! I had so many when I was a kid I had to get tubes in my ears. They help. A lot.

Let's hope Maddox feels better before Christmas. I really want him to be able to rip open a present this year. He feel asleep during last years present unwrapping. Although, sleep sounds like a present in itself right now.

I can't remember the last time I was able to sleep in. :(

Christmas!

I haven't started shopping yet. Luckily, I was able to purchase Orly's online and pick it up in store but the kids' gifts aren't that easy. There's nothing worse than having to shop at Toys R Us. Trust me on that one. Parents aren't that friendly and neither are the staff. They hate all parents and they hate kids even more. Pretty ironic if you ask me. Not only that but there are never any "deals" when it comes to toys. Why?? They know the parents will buy them anyways regardless if it's on sale or not. Bastards.

Ryan wants wii / Nintendo DS / PS 2 games. Yeah, all 3. Because 2 at home game systems and one portable gaming system isn't enough. In addition to that, he wants star wars crap, Ben 10 crap, spider man & Iron man junk too. That's just want he WANTS. That's not including the stuff he says he wants when he sees something at the store or in the paper. Toys R Us also MAILS him stuff too. Isn't that thoughtful of them?! Jerks. Aren't they closing down stores? Maddox is too young to have a Santa list. I'm sure Maddox will enlist Ryan into writing down his Santa list next year.

I wonder... is it too young to announce that Santa isn't real??

In the words of Nelson, "Ha-Ha!"

Mommy meth dealer, really?!!

True Blood anyone??

I've managed to watch 3 episodes and so far I don't know what to make of this show yet. It's a little "low rent" right now. There are a few scenes with Sookie and Bill where I'm cringing because I can't stand how cheesy they make them look in a scene.

My issues so far are:

Sam's thoughts cannot be "heard" by Sookie like they are in the show.
Tara and Lafayette are NOT main characters nor are they related
Tara does not work at Merlottes damn it!!
Jason is supposed to be hot.
Bill is too normal looking for my tastes.
Tara and Sam never do the dirties like they did in the show.

Small things, yet annoying things none the less. I can't wait to see Eric! I love me some Eric.

Fog makes your morning drive interesting. Actually, this weather makes for wrecks and skids. No bueno.

Fatty patty maddy!

Hmm..this was taken a while ago but i was going thru my pics on my p.o.s. Phone and found this in there. At least my phone takes good pics and i can mobile blog. People ask me why i dont go back to blackberry. Thats my answer. Priorities, yo.

Proof that anyone can find "Love".

CHICAGO — Drew Peterson, who is still married to his missing wife Stacy, is now engaged to a 23-year-old Chicago-area woman, his publicist said today. Glenn Selig said the 54-year-old former police sergeant has been seeing the woman for about four months. She’s the same age Stacy was when she disappeared last October. If they marry, she will be Peterson’s fifth wife.

Peterson is a suspect in Stacy’s disappearance, which police have called a "potential homicide." Peterson has long claimed that she left him for another man.

Selig also noted that Peterson was in the process of getting divorced from his third wife, Kathleen Savio, when he got engaged to Stacy.
Savio, 40, was found dead in an empty bathtub in her Bolingbrook home. Her divorce from Peterson was only weeks from being finalized.
Although her death initially was ruled an accident, authorities reclassified it as murder after a second autopsy was conducted in the wake of Stacy Peterson’s disappearance.

Read-o-holic??

What is up with me lately?? I don't find TV interesting at all. I don't find anything on the internet interesting either. All i want to do is READ! Occasionally I go through these bouts of binge-reading and then something with more precedence takes over my life (kids or work) and reading gets put back on the shelf (no pun intended). I can't stop. I find it hard to put a book down. I'm sometimes up till 2 a.m. reading. If I start a book I have to keep reading it till it's over. It's getting pretty ridiculous. Orly is now saying, "you and that damned book". He's no fun.

I finished the Sookie Stackhouse books and am anxiously awaiting the new book (march, i think) to come out. I hate Bill. I love Bill. I love Eric. I hate Quinn. I need something new. I need another distraction. A new series. A new book.

Possible next reads are...

Atonement (loved the movie, the book must be better)
The Vampire Diaries
The Host

Anything else I should consider??

I want my long hair back!!!!

I'm going to be growing out my hair. I've decided that i'm tired of the mom cut. My hair is going to look crappy for a long time because of this but I must resist the urge to chop it all off. The end result will be worth it. Hopefully it won't take a yr to grow it out. I have a feeling it will though. So in the meantime, please excuse my helmet hair.

Welcome back!!

Brit Brit is back!! Orly pre ordered her cd on itunes for me. How nice of him! So far I like a couple of her songs. I'm sure the cd will grow on me. Last years album was great but it took me a while to appreciate the album. I'll give it a few more days. On another note, check out those abs! 2 kids, venti frapps with whip and rock hard abs? I'm soooo jealous.

My home

I work best when its messy.

A total loss

Thats what State Farm calls it.

Time to start looking for a new car. Will he get a truck or a sedan?!!

Yeah..that's probably the most news I have this week. For shame.

Must have Edward!!!

I purchased Twilight tickets last Tuesday to see what all the hype of Twilight was about. Orly didn't have a choice in the matter. He was going regardless. I purchased the tickets at the Alamo Drafthouse for the last showing which also happened to be "vampire prom" night. It was very cool! People here in Austin always amaze me. After watching the movie, I had to read the books. Orly bought me the first book the next day and I read it that night while waiting for my cheesecake to rise in the oven. I bought the rest of the books yesterday and finished the second book last night. I think I'm obsessed with Edward. I think he plays on almost every woman's emotions. He's too perfect. He's also troubled and flawed which makes him even more delicious. After reading the first two books I think they choose Edward Cullen perfectly for the movie. I can't complain about Bella, either. She could be a better actress. There's a few scenes in it where I'm kinda not "feeling it". You definitely feel the tension between them though that you feel when you read the books.

Any who, 2 books in 2 days. I just started the third one a bit ago and hopefully I'll be able to put it down. I don't think I can last staying up till 2 in the morning much longer. Maddox wakes up every morning at 5:30-6:00 o'clock. It's killing me. I also don't want to finish the books too soon. I don't know what I'll do when I'm done with them. I may go into some deep depression much like Bella did when Edward left her. It can't be that bad. Can it?

Any suggestions for my next series of books to read that will distract me from the Cullens?

More Trouble...

Wednesday night I go home after working all day long to start my Thanksgiving meal for the next day. I quickly changed into my pj's, went downstairs, turned on the TV...and then NOTHING. The TV didn't turn on.

As a cell phone person, I tried troubleshooting. I unplugged it, replugged it, gave the remote a reset, checked the wiring all to no avail. Gave Samsung a ring which they also gave a try and again the picture to the plasma was black. No sound, just a black screen. I was very upset for obvious reasons. I can't live without TV. Orly can, he just flips on the radio. I'm not a radio person (unless it's my Howard), I'm a TV person. I mean crap, I can't even play the Wii. WTF?!! So I baked and cooked in silence until I couldn't stand the silence any longer- Orly was out with Dawn and Matt and the kids were in bed- so I finally turned on the radio. I wasn't pleased.

I purchased some sort of "accident protection plan" so I may just have to accidentally drop it. I want a new one. Freaking plasma. We've only had it 2 yrs. Is this normal?!! My crappy TVs from walmart and garage sales are still alive and kicking yet our $1500 dollar plasma is dead. BTW- It gave us no indication that it was on it's way out. No lines through the screen, nothing of the sort.

Maybe it was best that way. I would have felt guilt had I ignored the signs of an ill TV.

Not a good day at all....

I crashed Orly's truck. He's had it since June and I wrecked the poor thing. I feel bad especially since I NEVER EVER drive his truck but I did on Sunday. My brakes have been squeaking and he was going to take my jeep in to be seen so I took his truck. It was raining in the morning and the streets were still slick. There's a slight curve in the road on Westgate near William Cannon. I turned the wheel slightly and the bed of the truck started fishtailing. I let go of the steering wheel for it to correct itself thinking, "how embarrassing". Before I knew it, the front wheels started to skid and loose control. I took the wheel and it was too late. The truck was all over the place. It's a weird feeling to be in mid crash. You really feel as if it's all in slow motion but to this day I cannot remember some of the crash. The truck seemed to be flying and I could hear the tires skidding out of control. Orly's very messy car had debris flying all over the truck. Next thing I see is the wall of dirt and grass leading to Westgate Lanes. The truck hit the embankment and I landed -I say landed because the truck was in the air for a few seconds- on the SIDEWALK facing south bound on Westgate when I started out going north bound on westgate in the right lane. The lady in a truck behind me stopped her truck and checked to see if I was okay. A couple of guys stayed behind as well to make sure I was okay until the help arrived.

I hurt my neck a bit as well as my chest near my shoulder. I suspect it's from the seat belt. BTW- I'm completely convinced I would have hit the glass If I wasn't wearing it.
Orly's truck was sent to the shop this morning and hopefully they can fix it. There wasn't really much damage to the body but the axles are broken. One of the tires completely snapped off of the truck. All of the tires are damaged as well as rims. There's possibly damage to his transmission as there were a lot of leaked fluids. Until then, he's going to be driving around in his clown car - a Chevy Cobalt-.

Michael Vick is a horrific person

Sick Vick's New Dog Trick
Posted Nov 22nd 2008 10:48AM by TMZ Staff
Looks like Michael Vick is a lot more disturbed than anyone could have imagined. In just released report, a person identified as confidential witness No. 1 says Vick actually placed family pets in the ring against pit bulls owned by "Bad Newz Kennels" and watched as the animals ruthlessly attacked the domesticated dogs causing "major injuries."The witness went on to say that Vick "thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs injure or kill the other dogs."A convicted co-defendant in the case said there were times he suggested dogs unwilling to fight be let go, but Vick insisted "they got to go," meaning they need to be killed.Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison in Dec. 2007, and is set to be released from the federal prison at Leavenworth, Kan., on July 20, 2009.

My first reaction was utter disgust and then anger after reading this TMZ post. I'm furious at this inhumane person. How can someone who knows what pain feels like do this to an animal? How can you possibly live with yourself? I seriously think he should get life without parole or if he were in Texas, death by lethal injection. Either way, he's getting off easy. I'm glad he lost all his money. I'm happy his life is in the shitter. I hope he rots in jail and never sees the light of day. It's despicable and horrid what he was up to. Not only that but the fact that people knew about this and never said anything. Those people are just as guilty as he. As if killing dogs is considered OK because they aren't people. Killing is killing. He's a serial killer. Fame, money, success, all down the drain because he's a sociopath.

Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving at our house is usually going over to someone else's house and eating their food and bringing their leftovers home. This year we nixed that idea and instead opted for a Thanksgiving at our house. Huge for me because I don't really cook all that much (IE: 2 -3 days a week. Blame my job). Luckily I can read and follow directions so as long as i follow a recipe my food comes out pretty darn good. There will be studying involved beforehand. Dana introduced me to a few of her favorite recipe blogs. I'm going to attempt a Pioneer Woman Thanksgiving. If you click on her link and look up "Thanksgiving" I'm pretty much going to attempt about 70% of whats on her Thanksgiving recipe list. Am I crazy? A tad. I hope it all doesn't go to hell in a hand basket. I'm not insane though. Even I know my weaknesses. I ordered the turkey from Rudy's BBQ. I don't want to poison anyone and I'm not that gal who can pull off a turkey on her first shot. I think turkey making has to be introduced to you when you're young. Unforch, that was never done and I'm certainly not going to attempt it at almost 30 years of age. Perhaps one day when I make my list of things I've never done, a turkey will be on that list. Until then, Rudy's here I come!

My attempts are:

pumpkin and apple pie (pie crust from scratch)

mashed potatoes (from SCRATCH!!)

sweet potatoes (I'm not a fan but she swears her recipe will change me...we'll see)

stuffing (again, from scratch!)

corn and wild rice

whiskey glazed carrots (yes, whiskey) :-)

"Spanish" green beans (wtf makes them Spanish? the cayenne?)

dinner rolls (you guessed it...from scratch!)

Hopefully I don't poison anyone and everything turns out delish. If it doesn't at least we'll have the smoked turkey.

I need more counter space, I think. :(

BRRRR!!!

It's 42 degrees and I love it! I love being able to turn on the heater and wear sweatpants. Maybe I just like sweatpants. I think I love the weather because it reminds me of the Holiday Season coming up. We've been in our house now for over 2 years and we've never used our fireplace. For shame. I shall put that on my "to do" list.

I went to Ikea on Veterans Day and got a kitchen table for 60 bucks! It was a special deal and only had a limited supply. I love deals! Our old one was, old. It's had it's time and now it's time to go to Goodwill. The kitchen table from Ikea is pretty basic but i'm not going to invest any real money into new furniture until Maddox gets older. I'd really love to get rid of my couches but there's no point really. So for now, my couches will remain a napkin for dirty hands.

Orly went out of town on Friday and will be coming back tomorrow afternoon. He ended up going down to the Valley while being sick. I'm pretty glad he's down there. The last thing I need is sickness in this house. I kind of miss him. Kind of. ;)

Pumpkin Carving!!

The first pumpkin is Ichabod done by me, the second one is a skull that was done by freehand by Mike and the last is a cat done by moi. We bought these really neat lights for the pumpkins which makes it safer than using real candles but the lights also give them a unique appearance and glow.

I'm apparently allergic to pumpkins (go figure) and i rubbed my eye. Big mistake because for 2 days it was swollen and red. It looked like i had pink eye. It was gross.

There will be no going back from this....

Orly and I are going to the Rio Grande Valley super early Saturday morning. I know, exciting times in the RGV. NOT. So to entertain the kiddos I decided to get a portable dvd player. Ryan already has one but he needs a new battery on it. I priced them online and they run about 40 dollars. With shipping and handling you're looking at about 60 bucks. Pfft. F That. So I start researching a little bit more and venture off into Ebay land. I was once addicted to that website back when I was planning my wedding. Sure enough, I find what i'm looking for...

DUAL PORTABLE DVD PLAYER!!

They are pretty badass because they come with a car kit so I can hang them on the back of the headrests. YAY! I love technology. They have their own car chargers (my jeep has 2 outlets in it..even BETTER!) and cases. They also include 2 headsets. So no more annoying "turn that down Ryan!" every 5 seconds for 5 hours. I just hope Maddox sleeps for 5 hours. He likes to get out of his carseat after 30 min of being in the car. I now see why people buy minivans. Not that I would ever BUY one.

Anyway, I won my bid and I "won" this...Hell..I may even sit in the back now. :)

Frustration!!

I'm going to vent because I really feel pretty peeved right now.

My Aunt and "Uncle" are living with me and Orly right now because they are building their beeeautiful home and have their current home on the market to be sold.

First off, I'd like my house back. That is not going to happen anytime soon.

Second, I'd like for them to help out with keeping the house clean. Is that too hard to ask for? If you cook something, clean it up. If you leave a mess, clean it up. It's a concept we've all learned at one point in our lives. I'm sure their beautiful new home will be mess free when it's ready for them.

Lastly, why is it SOOOO damn hard for them to pick up Maddox at a decent hour? He's such a good little guy. He's never fussy. He's always happy (as long as he isn't hungry or has a poopy diaper), and he LOVES them. So whats the problem people?? Pick him up and don't leave him at daycare all damn day. I consider that the LEAST thing you can do when you're living in our home for FREE! UGH!

Oh, and one more thing. Quit putting ideas in Ryan's head about Mc SAME- Mc Cant. He's not our President dammit. He's 7. Telling him that McCain is a "good guy" and Obama is a "not so good guy" is means for eviction.

Rant over.

I won these tickets today! Too bad im not a fan.

Kelly~they are yours if you want them.

Grand Opening with Mix 94.7

We had Heather Rivera at our store today. Needless to say, it didn't bring much traffic in to our store as expected. Oh well, I got me some free tickets to see Changeling starring the fabulous Angelina Jolie! YAY!

Sunday, October 12, 2008

I took this because i thought he was going to die..

What you can't see from this pic is that his ladder was hoisted from the bedliner of his truck. Yikes! I thought that the ladder was going to slip and he'd come tumbling down. It didn't happen, fortunately for him. Funny thing though, he wanted me to take a pic of him using his iPhone.

But also... WE'RE OPEN!! We've been open, actually. It's been a bit dead but soon enough it will be crazy busy. Until then...I'll post random work pics.

Thats gonna leave a mark.

I was driving home yesterday from work and it was all smooth sailing up until I get around the 5th street exit on Mopac.

30 minutes later I see why it was backed up. I don't understand though... I didn't see any other cars involved so how the eff did this happen? Hmm....

ACL

I'm the biggest LOSER EVERRRR. I have never wimped out this big but I did this time around. Friday was good. We picked up Kelly and met up with Dana and Jim at Z Tejas. It was delish!! I had pulled pork enchiladas with black beans and rice. Yum.

ACL was in usual form. Hot, dusty, and filled with nasty port a pottys. Day one and they already stunk. It was foul.

By mid day I was already popping 2 allergy pills. By the end of the night I was coughing up nasty stuff and had to use my inhaler. I'm convinced it's the dust. I couldn't go to Saturdays event and on Sunday Dana and I had to finish up the store. It was a crazy week-weekend.

camera suicide

It finally killed itself. I'm sure I had a hand in it's fatality. I'm sure dropping it on drunken nights and never charging the battery didn't help much. He was a soldier. On his final night he took several pics and then never turned on again.

Anywho... TIME FOR A NEW SOLDIER!!

I'm thinking I want this....

I dig it. It's a little more than what i'd like to spend but it's what i'm looking for. I mean, if I treat it with care it will last several years so why not?

The Birthday Girl! psst...it's the one on the right.

Sorah's 19th birthday celebration at work. Nerd power!

Cupcake

Kelly brought Sorah cupcakes for her birthday cause she had to work on her birthday. Boo Hoo...she turned 19. Lets all cry and complain about how OLD we're getting. Ugh. What i'd do to go back to that age.

Actually, Kelly will bring cupcakes for any damn reason. I'll be expecting some homemade ones on Wednesday. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADDOX!!!

It's my baby's first birthday!! Horray! We didn't do much for his first birthday. I read that first birthdays can be traumatizing for kids his age. Some parents over do it with clowns and crap. We decided to barbeque and snap a few pics while doing so. He enjoyed the cake so much he had to put his hands in it. If I wasn't house broken, I would too.

YAY!!

I'm excited!! New store, new peeps, new customers, new role. 2 weeks and counting....

Halloweeeeeeeen!!

I adore Halloween. Let me repeat, ADORE! I found a few costumes online. Ryan's is already picked out, he's the Iron Man costume. Maddox's costume is still up for debate. I'm digging the monkey costume because he already looks like a brown monkey. He would totally pull it off. What do you think??

Sunday With the Fam

These were taken at El Mercado on S. 1st St. Yummy!! If you enlarge the last pic of Maddox you can see his little upper tooth coming out.

Ears!

I thought this was pretty funny and random. What am i going to do with myself when i leave barton creek mall??

Creepy?

This is a bit much, even for me.

Fredricks

Dawn's Bridal Shower is tomorrow and i'm very excited about it. I've actually never been to a bridal shower with a lingerie theme. It also happens to be at Taverna which again, I have yet to go to. I can already taste the mimosas. :)

Where I work, I'm next door to a Fredricks of Hollywood. I don't know about you but I was brought up to think that VS was "classy" and Fredricks was "trashy". For Dawn's bridal shower, I chose "trashy" over "classy" cause I know how Dawn rolls. I felt so dirty carrying around that red Fredricks bag coming in to work. I moved the contents to an AT&T bag.

To be honest with you I don't really think it's trashy cause I could have gone the "hot nurse" route but I didn't. I have never been that person that gives out those types of gifts. I wouldn't put it past Dawn though. She is afterall the one who has "adult themed" pinatas for birthday parties. Not that anyone is complaining!

**UPDATE** This is what I got her.

A cute Ryan and Madd moment.

This has been happening a lot lately. I'll catch Maddox and Ryan hugging each other. Ryan has been carrying Maddox around the house now that Madd is a bit older. Ryan holds him so tight it looks like he's cutting off circulation to Maddox's mid section. Maddox knows better to hold on for dear life. I've caught fear in his eyes a few times when Ryan holds him.

Maddox will be turning one on Sept. 18th! He's been such a joy. He's really a fantastic little kid and i'm not just saying that cause he's my baby. Well, I may be a bit biased. ;) Maddox took his first steps on Sunday. He took about 3 steps before he fell. Since then he's been practicing every chance he gets. I'm a little sad though cause now that he's mobile he's becoming a little more independent. Tear. He'll be walking confidently enough by his birthday. He says, "mama", "dadda", "papa" which I think is Ryan, "baba" for bottle, and my Aunt swears up and down that he says "bath" although no one but HER has actually heard him say that. I think she lies. He also knows that dogs say "woof woof". We'll ask him how the doggies go. He grunts, umpf-umpf.

I love those kiddos!!

I lUV MK

Some people see this as Mary Kay, others see this as I Luv Michael K from Dlisted. What do U think?

FIRST!!

My first post since making the switch from myspace to "real" blogging. I used to blog. Back in the day before kids. I was snarky and sarcastic. I'm now tired and bored. I need to get out more. How I miss www.bastardly.com.

I'm pretty excited about the impending move to the new 2222 & Mo Pac store. I'm excited about being in a new position and getting more responsibility. I'll definitely miss a few people back at barton creek...but not really THAT many. I'll miss the convenience of Barton Creek Mall. If I want a red bull..I can go get one at any time. If I need a last minute gift for someone I know where to find it. I always know who has the best deals...where the clearance items are in every store AND I could find any store in the mall with my eyes closed. I dare you to try me. Nordstroms owns a piece of my heart and wallet. Maybe i'll save money by going to the new store?? Perhaps. I doubt it though. I'll always find a way to spend that last penny in my pocket.
