I lay here in bed at 7am dreading going in to work today. Maddox slept next to me the whole night. I'm not yet ready to get out of bed just yet. It's probably cold outside. The thought of having to go through the same routine of showering, makeup, hair, getting dressed, drinking coffee, driving out to bee cave - just doesn't sound appealing at this moment. It's days like today that I wish I had a normal job.

Mistake?
Ever get "happy" news from a friend and think what a huge mistake they are making? Wish I felt otherwise. :-(

My 10 year old is now a deodorant wearer. I don't know how it happened, nor do I want to know. All I know is that it's freaking me out. Last week he got a love note on his desk with a heart on it. He didn't know what to do with it and didn't understand it so he turned it in to the teacher (bless his heart). Anyway, poor O will have to talk to him about the "birds and the bees" soon. Yuck.
Now that he's an official deodorant wearer - do you think it's time I tell him there's no Santa Clause?

pregnancy - WTF?
Why is everyone pregnant? My hairdresser is 7 weeks pregnant with her 4th child. Her husband and she are doing the "natural family planning" recommended by the Catholic Church. You basically track when you're ovulating and don't have sexual relations during that time to avoid pregnancy. The church is so against birth control so they recommend NFP. I'm pretty sure she and her husband didn't plan this fourth child but it's just proof that whatever the church is recommending - IS BROKEN! In addition to that - is the church going to be paying for this 4th mouth? Doubt it.

tylenol PM
This is some good shit. All I know is that it puts your ass to bed AND it gives you crazy dreams. Is this what 30 something's have now? Prescription and non-prescription drugs? What a sad reality.
In other news, i've considered writing or tweeting "Ridiculous things people say in a cell phone store". Ready? I'll give you a little sample.
1. I've been with AT&T longer than you've been alive.
2. I spend THOUSANDS of dollars a month with you guys. ($39.00 rate plan, okRRRR)
3. What do you mean the phone isn't free. I've been with you guys 2345234524524 years.
4. I just want a phone that WORKS. I don't need all the bells and whistles!
5. Data plan for an iphone? Why would you need that?!!!
6. What's iTunes? (5 and 6 are usually said by the same person)
7. What do you mean I need to update the software on my phone?!!!! Just fix it!!
8. I'm not technologically savvy.
9. What do you need my ID for? Who would try and steal service?
10. Give me the 4G phone.
Then I realized that i'd better not.

I've risen from the dead, bitches!
That's right. After almost 2 yrs of not blogging (I blame my job and kids), i've decided it's time to get my thoughts out in a more conducive manner. Otherwise known as blogging. Now i'm not going to make any crazy commitment about posting every day or every other day- just a commitment to not let it go another 2 yrs. Fair enough?
Today a friend of mine on fb started posting old pics and it brought up how I feel about my life right NOW. Right now, i'm feeling a bit out of place. I just transferred to a new store with new people and new managers. Change is always for the best but the older I get, the harder change gets.
I've been extremely introspective lately. Like, disgustingly self aware of my strengths and weaknesses. What i'm seeing is a loss of friends that I use to have. I see myself avoiding social interactions and shying away from friends. So what am I doing to change this? I'm not quite sure just yet. I don't think i'm happy with myself in general right now. I think that once i'm happy with myself, internally and externally- the rest will come more easily. I do know that I need to eat better, go to the gym, spend more time outdoors, BLOG, and just be creative. Is this a mid-life crisis? Good God. I hope not.
I hope this is the first step to getting myself back to my old self. I kinda miss her.

Orly finally got a J - O - B
That's right folks. You heard correctly. Orly landed a job. Not just any job. A better job than what he's had in the past. This is a career. For almost 7 months now he's been relentlessly searching and applying and getting closed doors shut in his face. It has all finally paid off. He starts on June 8Th and we're so thrilled because he's really pumped about it. He is what they call a "producer" for a State Farm Agent in Austin. He's going to be out and about getting new accounts. Life policies, health, auto, etc. Best part about it is that he can office out of anywhere. Coffee shop, the living room, out of town, whatever.
Time for Maddox to start going back to daycare. He will hate it at first, then gradually he will learn to love it. They will potty train him which is worth every single penny we shovel into that place. Last week as Orly was in the bedroom, Maddox was running around the house with Clyde. Maddox peeks into the bedroom and Orly sees that Maddox is naked. His initial reaction is what the fu... As Maddox turns around to run AWAY from Orly, he sees that Maddox has poop all over his butt and on his fingers. He jumps off the bed and discovers a pile of poop in the living room. Maddox had taken off his pull up and then proceeded to defecate on the floor of the living room. So again, whatever they do to train him to pee and poop in a toilet is money well spent. Plus, I'll be kid free on my days off. HOORAY!! Wait, does that make me a bad mother? To take your kid to daycare on your days off? Hmm...Nah! I need my time too.

Clyde
Because he's so darn cute....
We thought we almost lost him yesterday. It felt like we lost a child. Luckily, he was just hiding in my closet amongst all my scattered clothing on the floor. I'm pretty sure he heard Orly's voice and thought he was in trouble so he didn't respond to any commands. We gave him extra belly rubs yesterday. On another note.... his mouth is really huge. Just an observation.

Turning 30 took a lot out of me...
which is why it's taken THIS long to post another blog. Anyone buying it? Didn't think so.
I'm going to blog about what's on my mind RIGHT NOW. RIGHT NOW i'm thinking about money. Orly not having a job for 6 months going on 7 has started to take a toll on our bank acct. We have always had the emergency savings fund but seeing it dwindle down is hard to swallow. I love that he's been able to take care of our home and our kids but i'm ready to get back to living. Living off of one salary is HARD! I don't know how people do it. I can't live like this!! Fortunately, things have been a bit better lately. Orly has TWO very promising interviews on Monday and Tuesday. I hope to GOD that he lands one of the two interviews. This freaking economy sucks and it looks like its only getting worse. It's so depressing to see our beautiful country crumble to almost nothing. It's so hard to catch a break in this economy. Please send good vibes to Orly on Monday and Tuesday. He will definitely need it.

Dun-Dun- DUNNNNNNNN
Tomorrow is the day I swore would never happen. I turn 30 years OLD! OLD, not young. I hate it when people say they are "30 years young". WTF ever! I'm not taking it well. I think that my life is passing by way too quickly and it's passing by without me ever having any fun. Don't get me wrong here, I love my life. I do. I love my family, my friends and I even *heart* my job. I just really wish there was more time for all of the things that I love doing and people I love being around. I don't think life was intended for it to be this way. I don't think we were made to work 40 plus hours a week working for the "man" and spend time away from our loved ones.
I really can't complain about my life. For instance, I still have all of my appendages. Which when you look back at all the things that could have possibly taken your arm off and yet you still manage to have it on your person, that's pretty damn amazing. I'm also sane. I'm probably the most "sane" person out of my friends, present readers excluded of course. I also have the family thing down. I don't have a family to "start" or a boyfriend to marry so I'm good in that department. I'm also happy that I'm with someone who is in it for the long haul. Someone who accepts me for all of my flaws, my weird family, and my introvert personality. Thank you for putting up with my sh*t. Let's hope I get better with age.
Do you ever worry that people aren't going to show up to your own party? I do. Maybe it's just my insecurities. Side note, people really need to be more cordial and RSVP by the date requested. That really annoys the FRENCH (rock of love bus) out of me. Thank you for those who did and a big F YOU to those who didn't even feel the need to reply, "maybe", "no", or "yes". As if taking an extra 3 seconds of your facebook time to simply click a button would be too much to ask for. Who cares if I'm saying this anyway? NO ONE READS MY BLOG! and those of you who do, did RSVP. :)
Anyway.
30 is not the new 20. 30 is 30 and I'm just going to have to live with it. On another note, I'm getting WASTED tomorrow night. I don't want to be coherent in any way shape or form. There's only one 30th birthday a girl can ever get. I may as well start the 30's off with a grand entrance.

Pittsburgh
I should be packing my bags for my trip tomorrow morning but there's a black cloud of an inevitable strike by thousands of AT&T employees. At midnight tonight both parties should be coming to an agreement about commission, pay, benefits, etc. If the parties cannot agree, a lot of AT&T employees will not go to work on Sunday, Monday...etc. I may be on a plane to Pittsburgh only to find out that I have to get on another plane to come right back to Austin. LAME!!! I really don't feel like packing only to unpack. Unpacking is not fun. It's the one thing I hate about traveling.
In addition to my travel woes, I also had car problems today. I had to go to work to get some paperwork signed by Dana. Ryan had a birthday party to go to and we had not yet purchased a gift for his classmate. This was literally my second Saturday off since I've been at the new store and I was pretty excited to have the whole Saturday off to be with my family. I try to turn on the car (at work) with Orly and the kids in tow only to get absolutely no response from my car. Nothing. No light indicators, no sounds, nada. UGH! The jump we gave it did nothing to it. So yeah, we're going to have to deal with that issue now. FUN! Hopefully it's just the battery. I have my doubts because usually a jump will give it enough juice to get you to your next destination.
Anyway, we'll soon find out if I'm out of here or not. Stay tuned!

You sneaky cold, you.
I hate that when you suffer from allergies so often it's almost impossible to know the difference between a cold and cedar fever. It all started with a tickle in the back of my throat on Friday, full on cold symptoms on Saturday and a nasty cough on Sunday followed by chest congestion. I hope this doesn't end up being bronchitis. After work yesterday I go home to a house full of sick kids and relatives. That's really when it occurred to me that perhaps my allergies were actually a cold or virus of some sort. Naturally, Orly is immune. Maddox's voice sounds hoarse and Ryan can't sleep comfortably because he can't breathe through his nose. Oh, and they BOTH have some really nasty green mucus that flies out every time they sneeze. If I have to know about it, you all do too. All I want to do is OD on NyQuil and sleep my cold away. I also want soup. Lots and lots of soup. Too bad this low carb diet doesn't allow soups. Eating meat or vegetables doesn't sound as comforting as a big bowl of chicken noodle soup or tomato soup.
I must resist! I've been really good and cheat free for almost a month now. I'm doing my best by limiting my carb intake by no more than 30 grams of carbohydrates a day. 20 grams are ideal but virtually impossible if you have no time to prepare all of your meals beforehand. I did this diet a few years back and lost a ton of weight on it. I'm hoping to the same this time around. I also need to get back into the gym. My eating habits are only half of my weight problems. My lack of activity is also to my detriment. I'm a carb addict and I could solely live on rice, pasta and bread. No joke. The cravings are almost 95% gone and I feel really good. I'm eating a ton of eggs and a lot of vegetables. I also survive on low carb tortillas. I seriously don't know what I'd do without them. They are around 5g of carbs per tortilla so I have to limit my intake on those. I have even considered taking them with me when we go out to eat. Then I realized that would be weird and I refrain myself from doing so. I could only imagine the look of horror on Orly's face if he saw me whip out my low carb tortillas out of my purse at a restaurant. He's been really great about my diet too. He's been asking questions about what I can eat and what I can't eat. He's not eating cupcakes or Whataburger in front of me while I'm picking on my salad. I think he fears for his life. The thing I've grown to understand with this diet is that I must not skip meals. If I get hungry, I usually look for the first thing to satisfy my appetite and that was when I would cheat. Now, I keep peanuts and low carb snack bars around for those snack cravings. Also, Coke zeros and sprite zero's RULE! Maybe I've been drinking them for too long or something but I seriously think they taste just like the real thing. They also pair very well with alcohol. :)

DONE!!
Orly finished all the touch ups and soon enough I'll be posting pics of the new wall color. I LOOOOVVVEEEEEEE the colors. I do have a dilemma though...I'll take pics and see what you all think.
Interesting....
Tonight I'm going to V's house because she and her roommate are throwing a "passion party" if you know what I mean. I've been to one in the past and I was pretty flabbergasted at how women act at these things. I mean, am I just a prude? Don't answer that. I just don't think cheering at tassels and rubber thingies is necessary. Also, I don't really want to know what my friends' taste in toys are. Anyway, this should be interesting. I'm not really feeling all that well so I may not stay very long. Freaking allergies are out of control. My nose is red and raw. It looks like I got beat with the ugly stick.
I compared allergies from Austin to Pittsburgh for curiosity sake (I'll be there next week) and basically PA has almost zero allergens. How fantastic is that? Also, allergies are worse in San Antonio and further down South Texas than Austin. Who knew?? I'm never going South again!
Don't be dirty, people.
Oh, I'll definitely be mobile blogging some pics from tonight's event for my very, very few readers.

Allergies hurt, ya'll.
My eyes feel like they are bleeding. Visine doesn't help the redness. I can't see because when your eyes feel raw you can't wear your contacts and I don't have glasses. That's right! No glasses. I really need to work on that. I should have made that one of my NY resolutions.
I'd post a pic but no one wants to see that.
